The European Compost Network (ECN) has started to implement and to activate five working groups with specific work items:

• WG1 European Policy
• WG2 Quality Assurance
• WG3 Integrated Biowaste Management
• WG4 Anaerobic Digestion
• WG5 Eastern and Starting Countries

The intention is to define small projects/work items which can be handled with a reasonable time frame and workload – mostly managed/supervised by the chairs of the working group.

The work is mainly done by email and telephone conferences. Maximum one face to face meeting will be held per year.
