Stefanie Siebert, born in 1967 in Germany, joined the European Compost Network ECN e.V. in 2010 as Executive Director for Quality Assurance and Communication. Since 2012 she is appointed as General Executive Director of ECN.

Stefanie is working since more than 10 years in the field of biowaste management and worked for the German Association for Humus and Soil Substrates (VHE e.V.) and the German Quality Assurance Organization for Compost (BGK e.V.).  She is a soil scientist and since 1998 she holds a degree in natural sciences of the Ruhr-University of Bochum. She speaks German, English and French.

Mechthild Kedzia

Mechthild Kedzia, born in 1972 in Germany, joined the ECN in 2012. She graduated as ‘Diplom-Geograph’ at the Ruhr-University Bochum in 1996. While working for several years in environmental engineering consultancies, she qualified in financial accounting and webhosting.
Mechthild is responsible for administrative and communicational work in ECN.

Marco Giacomazzi

Marco Giacomazzi joined ECN in September 2019 and is responsible for the main political issues addressing nutrients recycling and circular bio-economy, including EU Fertilisers Regulation, Animal By-Product Regulation and the Common Agricultural Policy. Besides his work for ECN is co-hired by EBA: to strengthen advocacy activities at the European level for both organisations.
Previously, he trained at several organizations in Brussels where he gained extensive experience in monitoring, influencing and reporting about Public Affairs. Marco holds a Master’s Degree in International Relations from the Alma Mater University of Bologna – Forlì Campus (IT).
