ICAW 2021: Recycle your organics to save organics in soil - COMPOST!

April 16, 2021, Environmental and recycling businesses, organizations, researchers, and individuals around Europe are making plans to celebrate the Annual International Compost Awareness Week (ICAW) coming up the week of May 2 - 8. Due to the restrictions of movement and gathering to protect people´s health and safety, ICAW must be celebrated predominately using social media and online webinars. However, it is done, the goal of the program is building awareness on the benefits of compost use and organics recycling for the society and natural soil and environment.

Compost is important for improving or maintaining high quality soil, growing healthy plants, reducing the use of chemical pesticides, improving water quality and protect the environment. Organics recycling plays a key role in keeping valuable materials out of landfills. This year, a collection of experiences from different European countries will be presented to promote the International Compost Awareness Week 2021. Recycle your organics…to save organics in soil is the motto for this year.

The European Compost Network will celebrate the International Compost Awareness Week with a webinar 'How to recycle organics and to feed our soils? A compost journey across Europe' on 5th Of May from 15:30 to 16:45 h.
