📢 The European Compost Network (ECN), the European Biogas Association (EBA) and the European Waste Management Association (FEAD) are jointly calling on the European Commission to ensure that the use of compost and digestate can be effectively certified under the certification methodologies for carbon farming currently being developed.
🌱 While the 3rd European Carbon Farming Summit is set to begin in Padua, bringing together policymakers, farmers and experts from businesses and civil society to discuss the practical implementation of carbon farming activities, we need to emphasise the key role of compost and digestate in improving soil health and enabling carbon sequestration in soil, thereby contributing directly to climate change mitigation.
