This workshop intends to bring together experts from all EU 27 Member States, the European Commission, the European Environment Agency and the key EU stakeholders. We will start the event on Thursday, June 13, with a guided tour in the historic city centre of Mechelen. The evening will conclude with an informal dinner.
On Friday, June 14, a plenary session with consist of keynote speakers from the European Commission and the European Environment Agency and a panel debate between experts from civil society, local authorities and business. In the afternoon, breakout sessions will cover the following topics: Prevention, Waste hierarchy, Waste/non-waste, Bio-waste collection, Substances of concern in material cycles and Waste incineration in a circular economy.
